The Challenge
Although the original web sites were less than 1 year old, they were not professionalized in terms of appearance and navigation, and did little to make site visitors feel they had found something of value addressing their needs which showcased a solution to their problems. Many of their shortcomings stemmed from the fact that they were 1-page brochure sites full of detailed product information, user testimonials, features and benefits comparisons and opportunities to request an evaluation product, or to purchase it. Even product screenshots were only accessible through the main (and only) site page.

The Solution
2 completely new, professional looking, highly usable and search engine visible, browser-independent sites allowing easy access to the current site's well-written content were proposed. Site content was moved to appropriate pages and professional banners and Google search support was added.

Increased site traffic was needed to take advantage of the new opportunities for higher site conversions resulting from increased usability, and so Google AdWords pay-per-click campaigns together with incentive-based business partnerships with non-competing, related businesses were created in combination with strengthening existing search engine optimization (SEO) to drive significantly increased traffic to these 2 web sites.

The Results

IBM chooses s medicinasualcance Solutions to reduce client support costs in rollout of Windows XP workstations

The Challenge
IBM's client, the British Columbia Ministry of Health, needed to decrease IT support costs, and like many organizations, decided to provide Ministry staff with locked down desktops which limit users' ability to write to the Windows file system and registry. As part of the Ministry's Windows XP Core Image Migration project, they required that their software be repackaged for use with Microsoft

University of British Columbia (UBC) chooses medicinasualcance Solutions to provide professional web presence. Again.

The Graduate Student (Council) of the Faculty of Education at UBC needed a modern, easy-to-navigate web site to connect graduate students with access to support services. The Council is one of the few such organizations functioning at the faculty level of University of British Columbia for graduate programs.

This site includes built-in Google site search and easily-modifiable menus. Site content has been provided entirely by the GSFE. medicinasualcance Solutions completes design and development of a 'community' web site for the University of British Columbia’s Institute for Computing, Information and Cognitive Systems (ICICS).

Overview & Challenge
ICICS is a relatively new and growing research institute combining the expertise of over 135 faculty members from a diverse range of fields. They needed a 'community' web site to promote collaboration among ICICS members, external companies and industries, government agencies, similar organizations at other universities, and other relevant organizations.

Result
ICICS has a modern, attractive, well-planned, easy-to-navigate web site which frees the system administrator from the nearly impossible task of manually updating many contact information pages.  See www.icics.ubc.ca

Additional Information
In collaboration with technical and non-technical ICICS staff, medicinasualcance Solutions created this attractive, low maintenance web site incorporating PERL scripts which automatically rebuild 35 contact information pages using Excel spreadsheet data and the site template.
